Pin Outs

  • Printrex printers/plotters have historically used the pc parallel port as the standard interface. The connector on the controller printed circuit board is a 34 pin, dual row header that is connected to the standard “Centronics type” rear panel connector by a ribbon cable.

  • The introduction of IEEE 1284 interfaces requires two additional conductors. The 36 pin connector on the back panels are unchanged but the connectors on the controller circuit board are now 40 pin headers.

  • The following products use only pins 1 through 34:
  • 212/215 (out of production)
  • 220
  • 412/415 (out of production)
  • 820/822
  • 820 DL
  • 1200 DL
  • K100 has the 36 pin connector mounted directly on the controller printed circuit board
  • These products use pins 1 through 36:
  • 420 (out of production)
  • 422
  • 810
  • 820 G
  • 820 DL/G
  • 840 DL (out of production)
  • 840 DL/G
    • *For complete definition of all pin assignments refer to IEEE Standard 1284-1994.
